On February 18th, we celebrated Angelika's birthday.
In the morning she got a surprise "Happy Birthday" song with another sweet surprise. Yummy!

| As Angelika loves flowers, she got some too. |
The weather outside wasn't promising and it seemed to become a wet and rainy day. So we decided to postpone the outdoor activities till next day.
And so the birthday of Angelika started with cupcakes, went on with a movie and ended at home with a huge portion of sushi, Angelika's favourite.

Next day, as if the sun was wishing happy birthday too, the weather was turning out just fine.
We went to the village of Ladner for a walk and afterwards to the nearby Reifel Bird Sanctuary.
This huge wetland is one of the most important stopovers for birds migrating along the Pacific Coast. In the winter, thousands and thousands of ducks live here and enjoy the visits of the generous tourists. At the entrance you can buy bird seed for $1 and feed the birds. And when the ducks see you grabbing into your bag, they know it! Food is coming! They waddle to you from everywhere and suddenly you are surrounded by hundreds of competing ducks. Who gets the most food the fastest?
| A beautiful heron caught our attention. It was very curious and came really near. |
